Leo Horoscope for March 2011

You have so many reasons to celebrate in March. All of life is starting to turn around for you! This month has a huge emphasis on money, but with Jupiter now in perfect angle to your Sun, you will get a chance at awe-inspiring travel, better health, fantastic career success, FAR better money, a chance at love, and so much more! Let’s take finances first.

For years, you’ve had a series of financial problems come at you, often through no fault of your own. Month after month I wrote your horoscope, sorry that I would have more bad news for you. The culprit over these years was Uranus in your eighth house of other people’s money, a place he took up in 2003 and has remained until now.

A big planet like Uranus would have been enough to handle, but in late 2007, Saturn moved into a very tough financial position for you too, sitting directly opposite Uranus. Saturn began bombarding Uranus and vice versa for two years, and only recently left in July 2010. Things got better, but you were still stuck with surprise-a-minute, rebellious, unpredictable Uranus in your joint financial house. Uranus is not a bad guy when he is in good angle to your Sun, but in a financial house his volatility can be maddening at best, or downright devastating at worse.

On March 11, Uranus will leave Pisces and your eighth house of other people’s money, never to return to this financial house in your lifetime. Uranus takes 84 years to visit all 12 houses of the zodiac, so there’s no chance that you’ll host him in a financial house anytime soon. Your finances will settle down immediately and now, in fire sign Aries, Uranus will be in a far more compatible place for him to be, for he will give you excitement instead of grief. I will get to Uranus in Aries in a moment, and talk a bit about what benefits this portends for you (it’s all good!), but let’s stay on the financial topic, because there is also good news on that front, too.

As the month begins, you will have a new moon in Pisces on March 4 in your house of other people’s money. Accompanying the new moon will be an entourage of planets, including the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and, in his last days in Pisces, Uranus. That is an amazing amount of planetary energy in one house, so you will be very focused on money - perhaps obsessively! A new moon brings opportunity and when the new moon is conjunct Mars, like this one is, it brings action. It would be hard to imagine you finding time for anything BUT money as the month begins. Pisces is a double-bodied sign, the sign of two fishes, so you may have two sources of income coming in or two deals to discuss, possibly with two people.

If you need a line of credit or special loan from a bank, put in your application at the new moon, March 4, or the days that quickly follow. It’s also a superb time to apply for venture capital, a mortgage, refinancing plan, scholarship, or university financial aid. An inheritance may come up that needs to be discussed, or it may be that you are divorcing and will open talks to decide how to fairly divide the marital property. These types of talks come under the umbrella of joint financial matters (or “other people’s money”), for they involve the money of others, whether from banks, credit card companies, family, universities, government (say, in terms of taxes, refunds, or government programs) or other sources. If you are in a court case, it looks like you’ll be concentrating hard on finding the right settlement, or, failing that, preparing for trial. It’s a good time to be talking.

Mars is part of the crowd of planets in this house and his presence suggests that you could be spending more money than usual this month, say, because you are buying a house. Mars’ presence could, alternatively, suggest that you are encountering a dispute about money. If you do disagree, it seems you will have the edge, so keep going - it looks like you can create a good outcome. Just don’t rush.

Talks could stretch out six months or more if you are dealing with a complex matter that needs time to sort out. In that case, your next point to look for news or conclusion would be the September 12 full moon. If your matter is complicated, aim for that full moon for your finish, for it would be quite favorable to you.

This same sector, the eighth house, rules prize winnings too, so you may want to pick up a few raffle tickets or scratch-off lottery tickets this month, but don’t buy too many. The planets are speaking clearly this month, and you will know very soon where you are likely to receive your bounty. If you were interviewing for a new position, would be a good time to discuss benefits with a company.

Now that Uranus is leaving this very same financial sector on March 11, you have every reason to believe that you will have a far more secure future to look forward to in months and years ahead. It gives me such pleasure to tell you this, dear Leo! You are at the end of a very long road! Uranus will move on to Aries, but now that Virgo will get this aspect, it won’t be nearly as severe, as the Virgos won’t have Saturn taunting them in the way you did. Your situation is very, very different and quite unique. Now, you are almost done.

I say “almost done” because there will be some remnant financial problems that could show up on the full moon in Virgo, on March 19, plus or minus five days. A financial matter may come to an end at this point of the month, but with an unexpected twist. This full moon will oppose Uranus, so whatever comes up won’t be something you will likely know about beforehand, nor will you see coming.

There is a saving grace, however, because this full moon is in Virgo, and by some miracle, Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, will be orbiting within four tiny degrees of Jupiter. This indicates that you can forge a happy outcome with a bit of fast thinking. You seem to be in the process of tearing away from one situation and moving toward a completely different situation, and putting a new financial arrangement in place, either now or in time. It’s a good time to do that, so proceed.

I am not sure that I want you to actually give your final word or sign off on important papers with Uranus opposed to the moon, however. I would prefer you do so on March 14 or 15 when Mercury, the planet that rules contracts, will conjoin Jupiter. Those two days will be really superb days for signing. Otherwise, wait until the end of April to do so.

Mercury will be retrograde from March 30 to April 23, so that period will bring on delays and perhaps a change of mind. This is why I feel that you may opt to settle financial matters at the end of April, or May, which is my very favorite month of 2011. May will be a hugely exciting career month for you too, so if you are ending a job and negotiating an exit or severance package, it does not look like you’ll be out of work for long! A much more prestigious position is on the way, and it’s coming very soon!

Uranus will now enter your ninth house for the coming seven years, an intellectual part of the chart that rules open, eclectic thinking. You will become increasingly hungry for new things to learn. You may suddenly decide to go back to college for an advanced degree or take a few college courses you feel you need or would find interesting. You will enjoy debating and delving into politics, religion, culture, and other topics, and you will have a greater need to feed your mind with new ideas to consider. You may become more spiritual, religious, or philosophical now, for the ninth house is the area of the chart where we consider life’s mysteries, including why we were born and what our greatest contribution to the world might be.

Writing and speaking could be part of your future, too, and if you’ve always wanted to create a successful screenplay or be awarded a book contract, it could come to you sometime in the seven years ahead, quite suddenly. If this thought appeals to you, focus on this dream and pretend you only have a year to make your screenplay or book contract materialize. I say, “Pretend you only have a year,” because I want you to work with a sense of urgency.

Travel could also form a big part of your future with Uranus in your ninth house, and when you travel you will now likely go more spontaneously. You might even decide to live abroad for a time, say if you do your junior year abroad or go overseas to work. It’s alternatively possible that you will begin to work with publishing or broadcasting companies abroad without ever having to leave your desk, and you’d still find the experience broadening and exciting.

March 15 would be a gorgeous day to travel for business or pleasure, for Mercury will link to Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, in your house of foreign and distant travel.

At month’s end, March 28, Saturn and Jupiter will precisely oppose each other, but this time, because these two are not in your financial houses, as they used to be, you won’t feel financial turmoil. Now Jupiter and Saturn are in the houses of thinking and attitude. You seem to be seeing both sides of an issue, which is good, and on or near this date you may change your mind and take a different stance. This is considered a big aspect, for it’s rare - the next time these two dual again, it will be 2029.

Romantically, you will be feeling very affectionate. Planets in the eighth house always encourage expression of love, so you’ll want to have some private time with your partner this month for sure. If single, be careful not to let the physical overshadow the emotional side of the relationship. Sometimes the chemistry is SO good with someone that it’s easy to forget that there is not much going on in any other level of the relationship. When that happens, it all can feel very empty later. See how you feel - this could be one sexy month if you are with the right person.

If you’re attached, you’ll have the edge - on March 1. Venus will receive a beam from Uranus on that day, and everything your partner will do for you will seem precisely right. Now that Jupiter is in your house of travel, try to get away this month or in April. Soon your career is going to catch fire (in May) so while you can go, do, and be sure to pick a place on the map that is quite distant, and perhaps new to you. With Jupiter supporting your Leo Sun until June 4, you really are in a fabulous phase, where your health, happiness, money, and love life is sure to benefit. You must go out there and find your prize, but if you do, you will be working within a period of splendid aspects.

When it comes to love, circle March 9 when you may see a lovely romantic development, thanks to the collaboration of Venus and Jupiter. If you will be on vacation or traveling on this day, all the better because Cupid will be following you around like a little shadow, thanks to Venus in perfect angle to Jupiter.

Then, five days later, watch too for a text message or other communication from a sweetheart to thrill you on March 15. Travel on this day will be phenomenally good, and financial news could have you clicking your heels and jumping in the air, too.

Finally, expect to be whisked away in a dream of an evening on March 26, when Venus and Neptune will waltz in the heavens, stirring up lots of sparkling stardust in your path. Single or attached, you’ll love this weekend.
