Leo Horoscope for June 2010

This month holds the first of two oncoming eclipses, and while eclipses are known for their ability to create sweeping change and uproot us quite dramatically, you will soon realize you are in a very good position and have nothing to fear. This first eclipse, a lunar eclipse due on June 26, will fall in Capricorn in your house of work. The second, a solar eclipse, due next month on July 11, will be in Cancer in your twelfth house, the area of the chart that rules the thinking and working you do in private, behind the scenes.

As a Leo, you are ruled by the Sun, so a solar eclipse will always be far more important to you than a lunar eclipse. The July 11 eclipse is the less emotional of the two, for the one this month, June 26, will bring an ending, and may also give you a slightly sentimental feeling that time is fleeting. Full moon lunar eclipses often make us feel that way, but it is temporary. They make us adjust too, but you’ve had much better adjustments in the past - this one should not pose any challenges beyond your ability to solve.

When you hear the word “eclipse,” it may bring back memories of certain dark days when a series of eclipses in Aquarius and Leo turned your life inside out and upside down. Those lunar and solar events arrived in February and August of 2008, and returned in late January 2009 and again in early August 2009. Those days have faded into history, thank goodness, and it marked the end of many of your struggles.

The eclipses have moved on into different signs. They have been appearing in Cancer and Capricorn since July 2009. We also had another two at the start of the year, on December 31-January 1 (depending on where you live), and the first of two eclipses is due this month, as said, June 26, a lunar eclipse in Capricorn.

Unless you have planets in one or more Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn) and in early degrees (that point is important), you’ll not likely be ruffled by the two coming eclipses. Moreover, these new eclipses are due to fall in what is called “cadent” houses of your chart, which means they will appear in weaker houses, areas thought to be easier to host planetary aspects. You are moving toward a stronger, happier position.

Let’s now look at the June 26 eclipse in detail.

The June 26 eclipse will light your sixth house of work projects. It will not affect your professional standing in your company or in the industry at large, as this house centers on day-to-day work projects. You may see an assistant or underling leave, or procedures in your office many change quite a bit. You may finish a big project (perhaps with some difficulty), or get a new client or lose one. Alternatively, you may move to new headquarters or see management fix up your present office. Saturn will be in an out-of-sign hard angle to the eclipse, so it looks like something about what comes up is arduous or difficult, but that you’ll have to persevere nevertheless.

This eclipse is, admittedly, a very tough one, for it will have many planets at hard angles to that eclipse. The moon will conjoin Pluto, which means someone in your workspace is likely to come across as pushy and heavy-handed. Pluto and the moon will be in hard angles to Uranus, perhaps the most nerve jangling aspect, for it means what comes up will be completely unexpected. Mercury will be in a tough spot too, at 90 degrees from Uranus, and amp up the tension. I will agree that the time around June 26 will be nobody’s favorite, but I feel you can overcome any challenge it may bring up. Cooperation will be in short supply, and whatever unexpected event comes up (and it will), it will be a take-it or leave-it situation, or some sort of coup that can not be changed or negotiated.

The timing of the delivery of the news depends on your individual chart. You may notice news within five days of the eclipse (that’s the most common situation), or you may have already heard news one month ago (near May 26), or will one month later (July 26), plus or minus five days.

Alternatively, you may hear later. We have to note when Mars makes a hard aspect to the degree of the eclipse, which will happen August 6 (due to be a very tough day for everyone, of every sign). Later in the year, Mars will run over the precise degree of the eclipse on December 14, sure to be another day when challenges come up everywhere we look. We also have to watch what happens when Saturn moves into a hard angle to the degree of the eclipse, September 8.

Watch your health very closely, for this eclipse will emphasize your well being, too. Pay special attention to teeth, bones (with the knees in particular), skin, and ears/hearing, for Capricorn rules these areas. The sixth house, where this eclipse is falling, covers the preventative steps we take to keep our health in top shape, so be sure to seek medical or dental help should notice anything amiss.

Now let’s look at the rest of the month, for there are other things going on in your chart. On June 7, Mars will exit Leo after an eight-month sojourn, since October 16. You’ve had a wonderful advantage under this trend, for Mars made you the leader of the parade, capable of getting your way if you exerted just a little effort. The past month, May, was your strongest, and by now you should have a few victories under your belt. If not, or if you feel there’s still one or two VIPs you’d like to see, do so in the first week of June. That’s when your presence will be strong and sparkling and you have the best chance of getting approvals.

When Mars moves into Virgo from June 7 to July 29, you will be in a lighthearted mood to spend money - lots of it! Indeed, money will be burning a hole in your pocket. Perhaps you need things and haven’t had the time to shop. Or, maybe you have to lay out a lot of money for a certain obligation - such as to pay tuition or put a down payment on a house. If you don’t resonate with any possibilities mentioned here, you might want to slow down a tad, just until you come to the end of July when spending won’t be so high.

I have saved for last the best news of all! Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will move into your ninth house of distant, exotic travel on June 8 and stay for the duration of the summer, until September 9. (If you live in the southern hemisphere, it’s your winter of course.) This is fantastic news for several reasons.

First, Jupiter in Aries can help you in a very natural, organic way because Aries is a fire sign like yours. You will be able to practically breathe in all of Jupiter’s goodies! Jupiter is known to expand your horizons, so if you get a chance to travel far and wide, you must take the opportunity and run with it! It’s also possible that someone abroad will contact you with a great offer (or that you will find this person), and perhaps you can work on an import-export project or translations of certain works. It’s all so broadening!

Jupiter trine the Sun is a golden aspect that is rare and very special, and is ALSO known to bring good health. This means that this summer, you will enjoy rare protection that might come in handy if the eclipse brings up any health care concern - Jupiter in Aries will be at your side to make sure you respond well to treatments. Look for the best doctor / specialist you can find. With Jupiter in Aries, you can now locate someone who is quite esteemed to help you. This should be comforting to know should the eclipse bring up any health concern - you will have Jupiter’s protection until September 9, and then AGAIN next year, from January 22 to June 4, 2011.

The ninth house rules other parts of life too, so you can get an opportunity in your quest to pursue higher education, if that’s your goal. Right now you should be aiming for really wonderful colleges, whether you are applying for graduate school or undergraduate school. Don’t assume you can’t get in. You have excellent aspects! Don’t forget to file for scholarship aid too, for right now, your good fortune seems to know no limits. If you are an undergrad, you may be able do junior year abroad and be changed forever (in a wonderful way) by the experience. If you are looking for a grant, put in those applications now! There is not a moment to spare!

If you are a journalist, writer, producer, or work in other areas of publishing or broadcasting, you’re in luck, for you could find opportunity now from having Jupiter in the ninth house. If you have ever wanted to write for magazines, host a radio show, or sell a book contract, the presence of Jupiter in Aries will allow you to get closer to your dream.

Romantically, travel and romance will be very tightly linked because the ruler of your solar fifth house of true love / new love will be based in your ninth house. Here’s the fun part - because Jupiter will be shoulder to shoulder with Uranus, you may go on your trip together very unexpectedly. Or, you may travel, say on a tour to a very exotic land where you don’t know the language but meet someone on the tour from your country who is VERY intriguing, much to your surprise!

Venus will be in Leo from June 14 to July 10, your best time this month for finding love or fanning the fires of an existing relationship.

I especially love June 14, when Venus will be in Leo and receive a bolt of lightning from Uranus - pow! What a day! Any meeting or experience you have on this day should be quite electric.

The following day, June 15, should be even better! Venus will be in perfect angle to Jupiter, the good fortune planet. This is a day that is sure to bring you great happiness, and to top it off, the moon will be in Leo, too! Perfect! This could be your favorite day of the month!
